We know choosing the right learning environment for your child is a big decision. Our admissions process is designed to help families determine whether Embark Mirco School is the right fit in a thoughtful, low-pressure way.
Step 1: Application
Families begin by filling out our Application. This helps us learn a little about your child and answer your initial questions about the program. If we believe Embark may be a good fit for your child based on your answers in our Application, you will be invited to proceed with Step 2.
The Application Fee is due after this step-- you do not need to pay an application fee until we have determined we believe we may be a fit for your child's needs based on your initial application responses.
Step 2: Family Conversation
We schedule a phone, Zoom, or in-person conversation to further discuss your child's learning style, strengths, needs, and what you're looking for in a learning environment. We consider this a two-way conversation: Embark wants to make sure we can meet your child's needs, and we want parents to feel confident that Embark is the right choice for their family.
The application fee is due prior to this meeting.
Step 3: Enrollment
If Embark is a good fit for your family and space is available, families receive enrollment information and next steps for securing their child's placement.
The enrollment fee and signed Student/Parent Policies Agreement is due at Step 3 to hold your child's spot.
Embark Micro School is a small, intentionally limited program. Tuition supports low student-to-adult ratios, individualized instruction, classroom materials, and a stable learning environment for every child.
Our small class sizes allow us to provide the structure, support, and consistency that many neurodivergent learners need to thrive. Our small class sizes mean that space is limited. Our small setting relies on consistent enrollment to provide stability for students and staff. Because Embark is a small program with limited spots, tuition reserves the student’s seat for the full school year, even when you take a day off or go on vacation.
We are a 12-month/year Program, with the year divided into two separate programs-- or enrollment periods--to provide flexibility for our families:
Our School-Year Program runs August-May, with dates that align with the local ISD school year dates.
Our Summer-Bridge Program runs May-August, during the local ISD summer break dates.
*See our Student & Parent Policies for specifics regarding tuition, fees, due dates, and payment policies. You may request this before Enrolling. A signed Student/Parent Policy Agreement is required at Enrollment, along with the Enrollment Fee (Step 3).
TUITION RATES
School-Year Program: Tuition is $8000/year
Summer-Bridge Program Only: Tuition is $2500/summer
Summer-Bridge Program- Discounted Rate for Year-Round Families: $1700 (applies only to those with continuous enrollment in School-Year Program and Summer-Bridge Program, i.e. Enrolled Year Round).
MONTHLY INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS
For convenience, families may choose to divide tuition into equal monthly payments at no additional cost. Families choosing the monthly payment option will submit two tuition payments at enrollment: The first monthly tuition payment, and the final monthly tuition payment, which will be applied to your child's last month of attendance.
Monthly payments are offered as a convenience and do not correspond to attendance in a specific calendar month. Embark does not charge interest or installment fees for monthly payments, but does provide discounts for payments made in advance.
PRE-PAYMENT DISCOUNT
A 10% discount is offered to families who pre-pay for an entire enrollment period in advance.
OTHER TUITION INFORMATION
Tuition is non-refundable.
Embark is not on the list of schools that are able to take the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA), otherwise knowns as "School Vouchers." We do not have current plans to register with this program, but will continue to assess as more information and real-life experience becomes available.
